Packages provide the flexibility to bundle different types of buys. Two types of packages are available in Symphony which vary according to how costs and goals are assigned;
- Sponsorship: Each line item is managed individually in terms of costs and goals but is aggregated at a summary level to show overall performance. Sponsorship packages are most suited to sponsorship or bonus package buys where both line item and overall performance are important.
- Performance: Costs and Goals are managed and reported as one line item or at a Performance level. Suitable for performance or network buys where the performance of multiple line items contributes to a single spend and goal.
Packages may be proposed by publishers to the agency, by providing a breakdown of individual line items grouped into a Sponsorship or Performance package.
Notes & tips
- Maximum of 50 line items per package is recommended
- Packages may contain only one site and buy type
To Create a Performance Package
Media Performance metrics are displayed at line item level (e.g. Impressions, Clicks, CTR), but costs and goals are managed and reported within the summary line. Suitable for buys where the performance of multiple line items contributes to a single spend and goal.
Below is an example of a Performance Package that contains three line items, the items are labelled CHILDITEM in column A below a row labelled PERFORMANCE - the PERFORMANCE row includes the package information such as dates, goal and spend and the CHILDITEM rows detail the placement size. Any item that sits below the PERFORMANCE row and is labelled CHILDITEM will be bundled into a single package once the file is imported into Symphony.

To create a Sponsorship Package
Performance, Cost and Goals are managed and reported as individual line items, together with a summary total. Sponsorship packages are most suited to sponsorship or bonus package buys where both line item and overall performance are important.
Similar to a performance package, the items within the package are labelled CHILDITEM and the package details are contained in a row labelled SPONSORSHIP. The difference is that the cost, dates and goal are entered at the CHILDITEM level rather than the package level. Symphony will calculate the total package cost when the file is imported so these details can be left out.
