One of the many advantages of using Symphony is the ability to auto calculate values at the placement or package level for your campaigns. This helps get rid of any guess work involved for calculating either your goal value, rate value or cost value.
The way in which this is designed (when using the user interface to create or edit your placement or package) is to select the radio button next to the value you want calculated.
If you want to calculate the goal value, then you will need to select the 'Goal' radio button and then enter in the values for 'Base Rate' and 'Base Cost'. Ratecard values are optional and are predominately used for the publisher to disclose what the market price is to indicate what type of discount you would be receiving versus the market.
When you want to understand the rate, then you will need to select the 'Rate' radio button and then enter in the values for 'Goal' and 'Cost'.
If you need to find out the cost of your placement or package, then select the 'Cost' radio button. After that you will need to enter in values for under 'Goal' and 'Base Rate' in order to calculate the cost.
